Parenting is an endless job and the challenges are only greater when you are a single working parent having to manage everything on your own.
Single mother from Bromley in England, Emma Copeland’s situation was no different. The working mom of a four-year-old boy, who parted ways with her partner recently, had to come up with parenting hacks to cope with the situation.
The 37-year-old mom reportedly has a speedy bedtime and morning routine. She takes a bath with Luca, her son, to “save time and money”, and they go to bed together at 8:30 pm.
In the morning, she dresses up her son while he is asleep, cleans dirt off his socks and gives him breakfast in the car while they drive to school.
How can a single mother secure her child’s future? Follow these tips
“Luca’s very slow in the mornings so two or three times a week I’ll go into his room at 6.30 am while he’s still sleeping and gently get him dressed into his school uniform,” the mother revealed in an interview with The Sun.
For breakfast, Emma gets readymade pancakes or a low-fat brioche roll, along with some hot chocolate for Luca.
Besides, Emma skips cooking when possible, treating her little one to a takeaway once a week or microwaves potatoes, meat and vegetables on other days. “I’m not a big fan of cooking dinner as it’s time-consuming to shop, cook and clean up the mess,” she said. She also saves money by trimming her son’s hair when needed instead of taking him to a hairdresser.
