Aging depends on intestinal bacteria

One of the keys to unlocking the aging invited researchers from the Federal Polytechnic school in Lausanne (Switzerland), who after experiments on the flies that aging may depend on the bacteria found in the gut. The work of scientists in an article published in the journal Immunity.

Swiss scientists reported the discovery of intestinal microbe, directly affects the immune system and the rate of aging. Experts believe that there are other similar bacteria: they do not doubt how quickly a man grows old, depends on its intestinal microflora. Observations of recent years show that microflora can “conduct” different processes of the body to influence metabolism, on the probability of occurrence of cancer and other diseases.

According to scientists, aging of the human body and other animals depends on the system of “friend or foe”, which affects the ability to recognize good and bad intestinal bacteria. Experiments with flies have shown that dysfunction of this system has led to a bacterial imbalance, and also increased the production of lactic acid, causing inflammation.

Coordinated work of the system “friend or foe” depends on the gene PGRP-SD. If it is damaged, the immune system attacks the good bacteria in the intestinal flora, which stimulates the growth of adverse health flora. The fly is a reduced life expectancy, they have actively destroyed cells of the intestine.

If you take into account that aging is dependent on intestinal bacteria, this explains why people peers can age at different speeds, in favor of the scientists.
