Doctors have repeatedly warned that an excess of salt in the diet leads to high blood pressure. Now they suggest to refuse from salty foods because it destroys liver cells.
Researchers at Jinan University (China) decided to dig a little deeper and look at how salt affects the health of the liver at the cellular level.
Excess salt causes deformation of clearpace
A team of experimenters put lab rats on salt diet. The results pleased no one: the excess of salt causes many disorders in the liver, deformation of cells, their rapid loss and the slow healing. All these processes lead to hepatic fibrosis, a serious disease, symptoms of which are fatigue, decreased performance, weakness, anemia, decreased immunity, formation of bruises and spider veins throughout the body.
Researchers believe that large amounts of salt causes oxidative stress of the body when the balance between production of free radicals and antioxidants is disrupted in favor of the first. This imbalance increases the risk of inflammatory processes and contributes to the death of liver cells, leading to progressive fibrosis.

Salty food damages the heart and blood vessels
Without salt, our body would not have coped with many vital tasks: ions of sodium chloride helps to transport water and conduct electrical impulses in the nerves. However, excessive consumption of salty foods is associated with increased blood pressure the main cause of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
According to who, an adult should eat no more than 5 grams of salt per day. While the average city resident exceeds the daily limit at 4-7 grams. Pay attention to the ingredients listed on the packaging of store-bought products and try to reduce the consumption of salty foods.
