For months, the novel Coronavirus is to put people on the whole world in fear and worry. In Germany, the situation seems to calm down, however: fewer and fewer people are concerned about the consequences of an infection, such as the Corona-Monitor, a regular survey of the Federal Institute for risk bwertung (BfR), shows.

While in the previous week, 40 percent of the respondents indicated that they consider the consequential damage of an infection with the Coronavirus as a large-scale, decreased this figure to 26 percent. "Especially young people, underestimate the health impacts as a not so great ein", BfR President Professor Dr. Dr. Andreas Hensel says.

The risk of certain infection paths is now seen differently. A smear infection on doorknobs, cash, or a toy is considered to be less significant than in the first survey of the BfR-Corona-monitor three weeks ago. The proximity to other people is still regarded by 74% as the main route of infection, however, is also observed here in the course of the past few weeks, a slight decrease.

The change in perception might be an explanation for why the acceptance of certain protection measures, decreases further. In particular, the curfew and the closures of many of the transactions are now valued less and less by the respondents as appropriate.

It is also evident that the health effects of the Coronavirus pandemic back currently in the Background. So 36 percent of the respondents think that they will be the economic impact affected more than the health. 24 percent, however, the health consequences for larger. 13 percent think they will be affected neither their health nor economically.
